Congressman Gonzalez Postpones Vietnam War Veteran Pinning Ceremony Originally Scheduled for April 19 Due to COVID-19

Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced the postponement of the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Lapel Pinning Ceremony originally scheduled for Sunday, April 19 until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

"Many Vietnam War veterans are in the demographic that is most susceptible to COVID-19. I am postponing the Vietnam War Commemoration Ceremony until medical professionals deem that it is safe to congregate in large numbers," said Congressman Gonzalez. "I will continue to work for our veterans and ensure that they receive the benefits and health coverage they are owed from their years of valiant service."

Congressman Gonzalez intends to still honor Vietnam War veterans as soon as medical professionals indicate that it is safe to congregate together as a community.
