Topeka Metro Awarded $6.5 million from the CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act will award Topeka Metro with $6.5 million to go towards operating, maintenance, and other COVID-19 related expenses. These funds are instrumental in ensuring that Topeka Metro can continue to provide essential public transportation services during this pandemic.

Congressman Steve Watkins, who spoke in support of this monumental legislation on the House Floor, issued the following statement:

"Every day hardworking Kansans are showing up to work to provide essential services for their community. The CARES Act ensures Americans that rely on public transportation can count on Congress to provide the resources necessary to continue essential activities.
