Rep. Allen Statement on the CARES Act

Statement

Date: March 27, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) today released the following statement after the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed in the House of Representatives:

"While the bill was far from perfect, our nation is in the middle of an unprecedented crisis. The coronavirus pandemic is impacting every facet of our lives and demands a robust federal response. The CARES Act will provide much-needed relief by delivering $2 trillion in financial aid to individuals, businesses, and our healthcare workers on the frontlines, and it will continue funding an aggressive response to combating the coronavirus by investing in new medicines, therapeutics, and vaccines.

"We can all do our part to slow the spread and protect our communities -- whether that's staying home or supporting a small business through delivery, to go orders, or shopping online. I feel encouraged that today Congress was able to do its part by finally passing this vital third phase of legislation. Together we will get through this difficult time."
