Press Release

Date: March 25, 2020
Location: Mt. Pleasant, SC

Rep. Joe Cunningham (SC-01) today released a resource guide for businesses in South Carolina's Lowcountry impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. This includes federal, state, and local resources on how to apply for economy injury disaster loans, and answers to frequently asked questions.

"Over the last few weeks, I've heard from countless small business owners in the Lowcountry extremely concerned that they might lose their enterprise or be forced to lay off employees if they do not get the help they need," said Rep. Joe Cunningham. "Congress is finishing negotiations on a third coronavirus response package that will provide much-needed relief for Lowcountry families, workers, and small businesses. In the meantime, this guide will make it easier for businesses to find the local, state, and federal resources already available to help them weather this difficult period."

On Monday, March 30th, Congressman Cunningham will hold a telephone town hall to discuss the public health and economic impacts of coronavirus on the Lowcountry with his constituents. He will be joined by a health care professional and a representative from the Small Business Administration. You can find more information about the upcoming telephone town hall here.
