Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) today applauded the Department of Defense's announcement to utilize United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) to assist the Department of State in repatriation efforts for American citizens in foreign countries trying to return to the United States.

"There are currently thousands of Americans who are stranded abroad and making every possible attempt to return home. Due to travel restrictions around the world, many are experiencing unforeseen challenges and having a more difficult time returning home. Having called on the President to utilize military air services, I am thankful to see the DoD will soon begin aiding the State Department in their repatriation efforts. I look forward to bringing more Americans home, quickly and safely."

On March 25, 2020, Palazzo joined his co-chair of the House National Guard and Reserve Caucus Rep. Tim Ryan in sending a letter to President Trump calling on the President to mobilize our nation's military airlift, including Reserve and National Guard assets.
