Congresswoman Lee Slams Trump's Immoral and Dangerous Budget

Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee released the following statement after President Trump released his FY21 budget proposal.

"Trump's budget proposal is a direct reflection of his values and amounts to an all-out assault on everyday people. It slashes Medicaid, Medicare, nutrition assistance and vital programs that Americans rely on to make ends meet. Instead it funnels billions into a xenophobic border wall, and hundreds of billions more to unnecessary and already bloated Pentagon spending. It is nothing short of disgraceful and should be a stark reminder of what Trump's immoral priorities would mean for our nation.

"I stand with my colleagues in Congress who wholly reject this unrealistic and heartless budget proposal, and as a Budget and Appropriations Committee member, I am prepared to get to work with my colleagues to advance spending that reflects our values and our ongoing fight For The People."
