Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14) released the following statement after House Democrats refused to condemn Speaker Nancy Pelosi's dishonorable conduct during President Donald Trump's State of the Union address. Reschenthaler is a cosponsor of H.Res 832, a resolution disapproving of Speaker Pelosi's shameful actions, which was introduced by House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Kay Granger.

"Speaker Pelosi's petty conduct during the President's State of the Union address should horrify and embarrass all Americans. The Speaker not only disrespected the millions of Americans who support President Trump, but also the national heroes honored during his speech, including General Charles McGee, one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen, Kayla Mueller, a humanitarian aid worked killed by ISIS, and Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Hake, who was killed by terrorists while serving in Iraq.

"In stark contrast, President Trump used the night to celebrate the economic successes of blue collar workers, minorities, and women as well as to express support for real bipartisan solutions, such as the Senate infrastructure bill and ending the opioid epidemic once and for all. I hope Speaker Pelosi can put aside her partisan vitriol so we can work to address these and other issues facing everyday Americans."
