Today, Governor Pete Ricketts released the fourteenth episode of "The Nebraska Way" featuring University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO)/University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. During this episode, Chancellor Gold discusses his work leading two of the University of Nebraska's campuses and innovations in modern medicine.

Chancellor Gold has been the Chancellor of UNMC since early 2014. He officially became UNO's Chancellor in September of 2019 after leading UNO since the spring of 2017. Before becoming Chancellor of UNMC and UNO, he served as Chancellor of the University of Toledo's academic and clinical health sciences. Chancellor Gold is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Engineering where he received a degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. He also earned his M.D. from the Weill Cornell College of Medicine and has been certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, specializing in adult and pediatric surgery.

Gold has served on countless boards, committees, and both government and public health councils. He has been repeatedly recognized as a Top 50 Health Care Executive and a Top 100 Physician executive. He has also authored over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 40 books and chapters. In addition, he has shared his knowledge through 250 national presentations and over 300 invited professorships and keynote presentations. Chancellor Gold has been married for more than 40 years and has two children.
