Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL) released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a new, clear definition for (WOTUS)"waters of the United States." The new Navigable Waters Protection Rule delivers on President Trump's promise to finalize a revised definition for "waters of the United States" that protects the nation's navigable waters from pollution and will result in economic growth across the country.

"I applaud President Trump and EPA Secretary Andrew Wheeler for their common sense approach to revising the ill-conceived WOTUS legislation created under President Obama. When WOTUS was created, this heavy-handed government overreach robbed states and individuals of their freedoms.I've been in Congress for seven years and getting rid of this Obama era rule has been a goal of mine and many of my colleagues. This is what happens when we think the fedral government and government-created programs are the solution to our problems.

"Misguided rules like the Obama era WOTUS stifle the economy. Also, a lot of time and energy goes into trying to undo bad legislation like this instead of fixing the major problems our country is facing; like our ballooning national debt. That time could have been spent drafting targeted legislation that moves this country forward and grows our economy. Today is a huge win for America."
