Congressman Johnson Aces Children's Defense Fund's Nonpartisan Legislative Report Card

DECATUR, GA -- Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced he received an "A" from the Children's Defense Fund's non-partisan Legislative Report Card takes a comprehensive look at the legislative work each member of Congress has done on behalf of our children.

"There isn't a whole lot we do that is more important than supporting our children and giving them the tools needed to live health, happy lives," said Johnson. "I'm proud of my record to help protect our children -- from working to reunite families to providing health programs that make a difference in young people's lives -- I will continue to work on behalf of our children to ensure they have a bright future and the ability to succeed."

The Children's Defense Fund Action Council released their new, nonpartisan Legislative Report Card as part of their continuing efforts to hold elected officials accountable on behalf of children.

Their Report Card grades members of Congress based on their legislative work on behalf of children. Informed by the way that political scientists measure legislative action, the Report Card takes into account votes, sponsorship and co-sponsorship for legislation that works in, or against, the interests of America's children.
