Congressman Denver Riggleman Condemns White Supremacy, Stands Up Against Domestic Terrorism

Congressman Denver Riggleman condemned white supremacy in a House Financial Services Committee hearing this morning. The hearing, entitled: "A Persistent and Evolving Threat: An Examination of the Financing of Domestic Terrorism and Extremism," offered Congressman Riggleman the opportunity to ask questions on America's readiness to deter domestic terror attacks and the steps the Financial Services Committee can take to make us more secure.

"White supremacy is an abhorrent ideology that has no place in the United States of America. On August 12, 2017 a white supremacist murdered one of my constituents," said Congressman Riggleman. "It is my goal to make sure that our law enforcement agencies have the tools they need to combat this evil. The hearing today offered a chance to gain valuable insight on what Congress can do to help stop domestic terrorist attacks."

Congressman Riggleman has consistently stood against white supremacy, in 2018 he wrote an editorial piece for the Roanoke Times condemning those who marched in Charlottesville the year before.
