Location: Charlotte, NC

Congressman Dan Bishop (NC-09) gave remarks at a Charlotte Executive Club meeting about issues affecting the local and national economy.

The Charlotte Executive Club hosted Rep. Dan Bishop at their monthly luncheon earlier this week. Rep Bishop discussed a range of issues with the group of distinguished local business leaders and entrepreneurs, including the burdens of healthcare costs.

"Under this President, unemployment rates are at a record low of 3.5 percent, jobs in a variety of industries are increasing, and manufacturing has been rejuvenated," said Congressman Bishop. "Those gains will only increase when the U.S. Mexico-Canada Agreement goes into effect."

"The most important contribution Congress can make to sustaining that growth--short of balancing the budget--is to develop a highly competitive market for quality healthcare," said Bishop. "I look forward to continuing to work with local businesses in mind as we find sensible healthcare solutions that lower costs and increase competition so both businesses and employees can thrive."
