Rep. Lipinski Recognizes Service Academy Nominees at Oak Lawn VFW Ceremony

Rep. Dan Lipinski recognized fifteen students from Illinois' Third Congressional District that he will nominate for admission to the prestigious United States Service Academies in 2020. The nominees were recognized at a ceremony that took place Sunday at the Johnson-Phelps VFW Post #5220 in Oak Lawn.

"One of my congressional duties that I value most is helping young men and women pursue their goal to serve our nation by attending one of our military service academies," Rep. Lipinski said. "It is an honor and privilege to be able to nominate these young leaders from the Third District who have demonstrated hard work, leadership, and a commitment to serve others. I commend these outstanding young men and women and wish them the best in this very competitive process."

The 2020 Service Academy nominees for the following schools were as follows:

-West Point Military Academy: Evan Goodman, Lemont High School; Liam Ohle, St. Rita of Cascia High School.
-Air Force Academy: Brigid Barkmeier, Mother McAuley High School; Jack Barrett, Carl Sandburg High School; Mary Cortesi, Marist High School; Kyle Kras, Victor Jo Andrew High School; Jacob Sampier, USAF Prep School, John F. Kennedy High School; Isaias Toledo, Air Force Academy High School.
-Naval Academy: Mia Lisanti, Whitney Young High School; Robert Lupetini, Lyons Township High School; Enzo May, Montini Catholic High School; Rhiannon O'Keefe, Saint Ignatius College Preparatory; Kevin Phelan, Brother Rice High School; Ryan Pierpaoli, Lyons Township High School; Ryan Rice, Brother Rice High School; Kathryn Rost, Providence Catholic High School; John Stewart, DeLaSalle High School.
-Merchant Marine Academy: Noah Lyons, Lyons Township High School.
