Rep. Steve Watkins (KS-02) issued the following statement upon the announcement of an official agreement on USMCA, a deal to modernize trade between the United States and Kansas' two largest trading partners, Canada and Mexico:

"Today's announcement is a win for Kansas farmers, workers, and families. I have been calling on Speaker Pelosi to bring USMCA to a vote for months. As the first Freshman lawmaker on Whip Scalise's USMCA Whip Team, I stand ready to whip my colleagues for an Aye vote and deliver a win for Kansas."

Republican Whip Steve Scalise issued the following statement:

"As part of our USMCA Whip Team, Steve played an integral part in this USMCA negotiation process. This trade deal will be a major boost for our economy and is great news for American workers and Kansan families. I want to thank Steve for his assistance and hard work over the past months. Now let's get USMCA over the finish line!"
