Today, United States Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) released the following statement after the House of Representatives successfully passed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Congresswoman Hayes voted in favor of the agreement.

"Today I voted to pass the revised USMCA. The updated agreement contains several provisions critical to Connecticut's Fifth District, notably supporting dairy farmers by eliminating milk pricing schemes in Canada and increasing market access for dairy, poultry, and egg products. USMCA would also strengthen protections for labor, enforce more stringent environmental standards, and remove provisions contributing to the skyrocketing prices of prescription medication. Under this agreement, American goods, labor, and intellectual property will be protected as they continue flowing into the global marketplace.
