Beatty Statement on Judiciary Vote to Advance Articles of Impeachment

Statement

Date: Dec. 13, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement after the House Judiciary Committee advanced articles of impeachment on President Donald Trump to the full House for consideration:

"Over the course of the impeachment inquiry, the American people have had a front row seat to the irrefutable testimonies and evidence that make clear that President Trump abused the power of the presidency to solicit a foreign government for a political favor, jeopardizing our national security and electoral process, and then went to great lengths to obstruct a lawful congressional investigation into the matter. As I have said time and time again, no person--not even the president--is above the law. I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution and I fully intend on holding Trump accountable for his actions."
