Congresswoman Moore Votes in Support of Legislation to Help End Robocalls

Statement

Date: Dec. 4, 2019
Location: Washington D.C.

Today, the House passed the Pallone-Thune Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act (TRACED Act), to strengthen federal efforts to stop the stream of robocalls that affect every community across the country. This bill will help give the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and DOJ additional tools to combat robocalls.

"Robocalls are a nuisance and can sap precious time. These calls can also scam Americans into giving away their personal information and money. We have also seen these calls bombard hospitals, diverting critical attention and resources.

Today, Congress took steps to prevent Americans from being bombarded with robocalls and potentially defrauded by passing the TRACED Act. With nearly half of all cell phone calls being robocalls, I am grateful that Congress came together on a bipartisan basis to act. I am proud to support this legislation and will continue working to protect consumers."
