Harder Statement on Supreme Court Case on Dreamers

Statement

Date: Nov. 12, 2019
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

"I taught Dreamers at MJC -- they're Americans in every way except on paper. One young woman I knew was carried over the border as a little baby but now faces an uncertain future.

"The Trump Administration has gone after these kids for no good reason even after the president himself said they're "good, educated, and accomplished young people who have jobs.' The Supreme Court should rule in favor of our Dreamers and stop the rollback of this program.

"We're only in this situation because Mitch McConnell and the Senate refuse to do anything to protect our Dreamers. We passed a bipartisan bill in the House and they've been sitting on it for months-- instead forcing the Supreme Court to do the Senate's. It's time to stop playing politics with these kids' futures and finally pass the Dream and Promise Act."
