Officer Larry Harris Retires From the California Highway Patrol

Mr. COOK. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize the outstanding law enforcement career of California Highway Patrol Officer Larry Harris, who retired on June 28, 2019 after 23 years of service.

After completing CHP Academy in 1996, Officer Harris was assigned as a new officer to the Newhall area. Following his first assignment, he spent four years working in the West and South Los Angeles Area. Officer Harris then went on to serve the Barstow and Lake Arrowhead areas from 2001 to 2006, after which he transferred to the Victorville station where he has spent the remainder of his career.

On behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives, I offer my sincere congratulations to Officer Larry Harris for his 23 years of service as a member of the California Highway Patrol and wish him an enjoyable and relaxing retirement. Over the course of his career he has personified the California Highway Patrol motto ``Safety, Service, and Security'' with hard work, dedication, and professionalism.
