Lowey condemns President Trump's endangerment of environment, our children's future

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY17/Rockland-Westchester), Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and its Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, issued the following statement on the Trump Administration's announced withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Agreement on climate change:

"By moving to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement, this President yet again demonstrates his reckless endangerment of our children's future, his children and grandchildren included, our national security and global stability. I applaud the efforts of so many coalitions and a growing movement among youth to combat climate change, a stark contrast to the increasing threat this President poses to our environment. Now is not the time for the United States to fall short as a global leader in promoting democratic values and future prosperity."
