Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) issued a statement in reaction to the Trump Administration's decision to lift sanctions on Turkey:

"The Trump Administration's decision to lift sanctions against Turkey portrays the United States as toothless on the world stage and aligns our foreign policy interests with the authoritarian regimes of Russia, Turkey and Syria. President Trump has betrayed our Kurdish partners and allowed for Russia to cement its influence in the region. He has also single-handedly given ISIS a chance to regain a foothold in the region and threatened our national security. We must do everything in our power to once again reclaim our reputation as a trustworthy ally with a foreign policy rooted in a strong moral code."
