Boehner Honors Our Nation's Veterans
November 7, 2005
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative John Boehner (R-OH) today released a public service announcement honoring the men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. The announcement - available in MP3, WMA, and Real Audio formats - is being distributed to radio and television stations that reach Ohio's Eighth Congressional District.
"As we prepare to mark Veterans Day on November 11th, let us take time to thank our nation's military veterans and remember the sacrifices they have made to make America the greatest land on Earth," said Boehner. "We owe them a debt of gratitude that can be repaid only by continuing to preserve the freedom they have protected for generations."
Below is a transcript of the public service announcement:
Honoring Our Heroes on Veterans' Day PSA (:60)
Hello, I'm Congressman John Boehner. This month, we celebrate Veterans' Day, and honor the 25 million Americans who have served in our nation's armed forces.
America has always been a country devoted to the cause of liberty both at home and abroad. Through their bravery, our nation's heroes have triumphed over brutal enemies, liberated continents, and defended our freedom and our lives. America's veterans have earned the thanks and support of a grateful nation.
Our prayers go out to the young men and women who today face danger in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere in the War on Terror. We honor them and all those who came before them for their love of country and their sacrifice.
