Chabot Appointed to PATRIOT Act Conference Committee

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) today was appointed to the House - Senate Conference Committee charged with reconciling differences in the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act (H.R. 3199). Chabot, the Chairman of the House Constitution Subcommittee, presided over a number of hearings exploring PATRIOT Act reauthorization issues in the Judiciary Committee earlier this year.
"This is an important debate that must focus on protecting our nation from terrorist attacks while preserving civil liberties," Chabot stated. "I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue working on this critical issue."
