Neal statement on federal judge's harmful ACA ruling

Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) issued the following statement after a federal judge in Texas overturned an anti-discrimination rule in the Affordable Care Act (ACA):

"As part of its crusade to dismantle our nation's health care system, the Trump Administration today rolled back a key patient safeguard in the ACA. Women and transgender individuals should have the same protections any other patients receive, but this ruling allows doctors to discriminate against them and refuse to provide them with medical treatment. While Democrats believe in expanding the availability of affordable care, Republicans continue to find ways to make it harder for Americans to access the health attention they need."
