Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in response to the announcement by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that she supports initiating an impeachment inquiry of President Trump regarding a phone conversation he had with the President of Ukraine:

"In their tireless zeal to reverse the outcome of the 2016 election, Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats have renewed their chorus of calls to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Trump. With their talk of Russian collusion in the 2016 election utterly and totally destroyed by the Mueller Report, the Democrats have found their latest shiny object in Ukraine. I thank President Trump for being responsible and agreeing to release the full transcript of his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tomorrow. Since I believe that every American is innocent until proven guilty, I will read the transcript before jumping to any conclusions. I urge my Democratic colleagues to be responsible and do the same."
