McHenry Applauds Appointment of New IMF Managing Director

Today, the top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement on the appointment of Kristalina Georgieva as the new Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"I congratulate Kristalina Georgieva and wish her well as she embarks on her new role at the IMF. I hope that Managing Director Georgieva will complete important reforms at the Fund, including overhauling its compensation policies and ensuring that any changes to IMF resources reflect congressional priorities. I look forward to working with Managing Director Georgieva as the IMF continues its important work in the field of technical assistance for countries around the world, including activities that help those countries fight money laundering and terrorist financing."

The Financial Services Committee is responsible for overseeing the IMF and other international financial institutions.
