Governor DeWine Meets Premiers Jason Kenney of Alberta and Doug Ford of Ontario

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine met with Jason Kenney, the Premier of Alberta and Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario. Governor DeWine, Premier Kenney, and Premier Ford discussed Ohio's trade relationship with Canada and the two provinces.

"Today was a great opportunity to talk about the needs of Ohio, the needs of Alberta and Ontario and the goals we share," said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. "I look forward to continuing the dialogue to drive economic growth and jobs for the people of Ohio and the people of Alberta and Ontario."

Canada was Ohio's largest export market for Ohio products in 2018. In 2018, Ohio firms exported $21 billion worth of products to Canada, a 10.9 percent increase from 2017. Ohio imports from Canada totaled $12.3 billion in 2018. There are 560 Ohio locations of Canadian corporations that employ more than 21,000 people.

Lydia Mihalik, Director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, and Kenny McDonald, President and CEO of One Columbus, joined Governor DeWine at the meeting.
