Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) Monday congratulated President Donald Trump for reaching an agreement in principle with Japan on a revised trade deal, which will help US farmers, businesses, and workers.

In light of the agreement, Congressman Keller also urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stop her obstruction and help Pennsylvania's agriculture industry by passing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

The following statement may be attributed to Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA):

"I want to congratulate President Donald Trump and his team for reaching an agreement in principle with Japan on a revised trade deal that puts our farmers, businesses, and workers first.

"For too long, Pennsylvania's agriculture industry has operated under trade deals that limit the potential of our state's number one industry and each new trade deal secured by the President and his administration works to undo decades of imbalance that has disfavored American-produced goods.

"In light of the trade deal with Japan, I encourage Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stop her obstruction and bring up the USMCA up for a vote.

"The USMCA is another trade deal--desired by all three parties--that will benefit Pennsylvania's agriculture industry and rebalance trade to favor the United States following decades of the terrible NAFTA agreement."
