What will Democrats do now?

After two years, 2,800 subpoenas, 1,000 search warrants and interviews, tens of millions of dollars, and unfettered freedom to follow every path, Special Counsel Robert Mueller reported there was no collusion between Russia and President Trump's campaign.

None. Zero. Nada. In fact, he concluded not a single American conspired or coordinated with Russia despite "multiple offers." Turns out the entire accusation Democrats and the liberal media tried to desperately sell the American people is completely false -- an embarrassing, credibility-shattering invention.

Democrats owe the American people an apology. As importantly, they need to stop wasting even more time on their Trump-hating rush to impeachment and begin working with Republicans to tackle the serious challenges facing America. But will they?

In 2016 President Obama said there was no answer to bringing manufacturing jobs back to hard-working Americans -- not unless we had a "magic wand".

Boy, was he wrong. While manufacturing jobs shrunk under Obama, they have grown by over 450,000 under President Trump. Blue collar employment is surging, paychecks are growing, and thanks to Republican tax reform and balanced regulations, America is now enjoying a new era of manufacturing rebirth.

We are seeing that growth here at home. A few weeks ago I toured two new manufacturing plants in East Texas that created 100 new jobs with nearly $100 million of investment in the local community. Last week I toured Packers Plus Energy Services in Tomball, Martin Marietta and Century Asphalt in the Navasota Industrial Park, and Eagle Pressure Control in Grimes County.

Together, these local companies are seeing strong growth, investing millions in new technology to stay competitive, hiring new workers, and expanding their markets. And each of them are proud to be part of their communities.

Unfortunately, too many in Washington and on the presidential campaign trail are trying to return to the slow-growth, America-can't-compete days of the disappointing Obama economy by raising taxes and imposing more mandates and regulation on Main Street America. They don't understand there's no magic wand. Just get Washington out of the way of America's job creators - they'll do the rest.

More good news for our local veterans. Last week I toured the new 3,850-square-foot dental facility at the Conroe VA Outpatient Clinic that I worked together with the Houston VA to bring about. Now our veterans have the convenience of visiting this new facility for dental care instead of having to make the long trip to downtown Houston.

For all our veterans have done to protect our freedoms, this is a small way to repay our thanks.

As a GOP leader in charge of passing the new modern United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement, I head to the White House this week to meet with President Trump. There's a lot at stake -- especially for Texas -- and it's vital that Democrats work with us to pass this important new agreement.
