Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the House agreed to the Senate-passed a $4.6 billion emergency border supplemental bill.

LaMalfa said: "The Senate's rejection of the partisan legislation that passed the House with solely Democrat support earlier this week was telling. Conversely, the Senate's bill is actually a bipartisan attempt to help improve conditions at our southern border -- it easily passed the Senate 84-8. Despite this, Speaker Pelosi remained determined to derail this measure and inject it with partisan politics, but she failed. The House passage of this important emergency supplemental will help give our border personnel the tools and resources they need to handle the dramatic influx of migrants at our southern border, and I was happy to support it. The delay tactics used by House Democrats against this measure are shameful, but I'm pleased that logic and reason won in the end. This is a good, bipartisan compromise that the President should sign into law in short order. Our folks at the southern border desperately need it."enate's rejection of the partisan legislation that passed the House with solely Democrat support earlier this w
