Huizenga Supports Bipartisan Humanitarian Aid Package for Our Southern Border

Statement

Issues: Immigration

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after voting in support of the bipartisan humanitarian aid package for our nation's southern border.

"This bipartisan package will deliver meaningful resources to children and families in need as well as those tasked with caring individuals along our southern border. Additionally this legislation gives the flexibility necessary for the federal government, border patrol agents, and the Department of Health and Human Services to respond to the challenges we are currently facing. For months we have seen this crisis continue to grow while some chose to play partisan politics instead of focusing on the crisis at hand. I am glad to see such strong bipartisan support for this humanitarian aid package that focuses on delivering aid not politics."

Yesterday, Congressman Huizenga called for Speaker Pelosi to take up the senate bill before the 4th of July holiday. The humanitarian and border aid package now goes to the President for his signature.
