Advocates back Medicaid action

Statement

Date: May 26, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Coinciding with Thursday's hearing, 33 national and state organizations called on Congress to immediately address the Medicaid programs in the U.S. territories, particularly the Pacific territories. "We are concerned that without Congressional action, the funding shortfalls and the impending Medicaid cliff will cause significant harm to the health of territorial residents, many of whom are Americans," the organizations wrote to House and Senate leadership, as well as the chairs and ranking members of the committees of jurisdiction. I want to thank the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations for this effort. Read their letter here.
