UPDATE: Air Force Deems Hill Safe

Statement

Date: May 2, 2019

"When compared to other bases around the world, Hill shines."
The Air Force Secretary has produced supplemental findings after conducting a study to determine the bases most at risk of weather impacts. The "Top 10" list is comprised of Air Force bases deemed "susceptible to the consequences of severe weather events." As Utah's sole representation on an Armed Services committee, Rep. Rob Bishop UT-01 received a background paper detailing the list seen below.

After receiving this background paper from the Secretary of the Air Force, Rep. Bishop issued the following statement:

"It is always heartening to get a reminder that Utah's Hill Air Force Base is strong. We have always known that Hill's active duty and civilian workforce is strong. Now we can take comfort knowing the Air Force acknowledges the resiliency and strength of the base itself. When compared to other bases around the world, Hill shines."
