Marchant Gold Star Family Bill Passes House

Statement

Last night, the House passed legislation introduced by Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) and Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) to provide tax relief to children who have lost a parent serving in the military. Their bill was passed as part of the SECURE Act package.

Congressman Marchant issued this statement following its passage:

"This bill is the result of our dedication to Gold Star families and the need to ensure that families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country can keep the full benefits they are due. Its passage is great news going into Memorial Day weekend, and I hope that the Senate will move quickly to pass this important, common sense bill."
