Ferguson Calls out Dems Refusal to Engage on Net Neutrality

Statement

Date: April 10, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) today released the following statement after voting no on Democrats' false flag net neutrality legislation:

"Instead of coming to the table and working with Republicans to implement common sense net neutrality regulations, Democrats are once again taking a critical policy issue and holding it hostage for their own political ends. Their legislation is ill-concealed government control of the Internet, and just the first step of their socialist agenda to expand government reach into innovative and vibrant centers of our economy.

"Why don't Democrats want to focus on passing real policies with broad bipartisan support? There is widespread agreement that we should act to prevent bad actors from blocking or throttling competitors and ensure the Internet remains an open marketplace for innovators and job creators.

"But Democrats are far more interested in far-left talking points than in getting things done for the American people. In fact, bills like this one especially hurt folks in my district who live in rural America. I hope that House Democrats will change course and come to the table so that the House of Representatives can get back to work."
