Congressman Joe Morelle released the following statement following passage today of a House resolution condemning the Trump Administration's actions to seek the invalidation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in its entirety:

"The Trump Administration has doubled down on their efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, continuing their longstanding pattern of shortsighted and cruel policies that pull the rug out from under millions of Americans in need. Not only would this put health coverage on the chopping block for millions of families, it would be detrimental to those with pre-existing conditions who rely on ACA protections for life-saving care.

"House Democrats made a promise to always protect individuals with pre-existing conditions and fight back against those who seek to dismantle the fundamental protections no person should be denied. That's why I joined my colleagues in condemning the Trump Administration's destructive actions and will continue fighting to ensure hardworking families everywhere have quality, affordable healthcare they can rely on."
