The following is a statement from Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) on H.Res. 183:

"The language of hatred and bigotry holds us back from being the country we are capable of and should aspire to be. As Dr. King said, "Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred."

Anti-Semitism in any form, by any one, is simply unacceptable. Anti-Muslim bigotry in any form, by any one, should not be tolerated.

We, as Americans, are better than that. If we are going to address the issues that impact our country every day, we must do so from a position of civility and understanding. While we may disagree on the substance of a debate, we should always lift up our ideas before tearing down our colleagues. I am proud to vote to pass this resolution and will always stand up against bigotry and hate in all its forms."
