Today, Representative Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) issued the following statement on the passage of H.R. 7, the Paycheck Fairness Act:

"Equal pay is not just a women's issue, it's a family issue," said Torres Small. "For far too long, women across the country have experienced a significant pay gap compared to their male counterparts. And as more women join the workforce, this puts families at a disadvantage. It can prevent them from reaching important life milestones, like buying a house or starting their own business. I am proud to support the bipartisan Paycheck Fairness Act and bring our country one step closer to achieving equal pay for equal work. "
