Marchant Appointed to Prestigious Joint Economic Committee

Press Release

Date: March 18, 2019

Today, Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) was appointed as the newest member of the bicameral Joint Economic Committee (JEC). The primary tasks of the JEC are to review economic conditions and recommend improvements in economic policy.

"The smart policies of the past two years have created the best economy in a generation. We must now work to keep that momentum going, which is why I am honored to join the Joint Economic Committee for the 116th Congress. I look forward to working with Chairman Mike Lee and my colleagues to advocate for pro-growth policies that will keep small businesses expanding and paychecks growing in our district and across the country," said Congressman Marchant.

"I am pleased to appoint Kenny Marchant to the Joint Economic Committee. Kenny was a small business owner at a young age, so he understands how important small businesses are to a growing economy. Fastening policies that will encourage more small businesses and startup creation should be atop our economic agenda. I know Kenny's consistent leadership and experience on this issue will have a positive impact on the Committee," said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
