Lipinski Statement on One Year Since Parkland Shooting

Statement

Date: Feb. 14, 2019

"Today marks the one-year anniversary of the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. I have been moved by the actions of the Stoneman Douglas survivors and others across the county who are banding together to work on ending senseless gun violence. Their persistence is paying off as last night the House Judiciary Committee passed #HR8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act. This is the first major gun violence prevention legislation to pass the Committee in several decades. It is long overdue but gives me hope for the future. #EndGunViolence"
