Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement after voting against House Democrats' rules package for the 116th Congress.

"Day one of the 116th Congress. House Democrats have already changed the established rules. They intend to raise taxes, grow the federal government, increase spending, and advance their socialist agenda. The new rules package makes it easier for them to do those things. It's dangerous for America and proves that House Democrats will do anything to flatten our economy and erase the wins that we've delivered under President Trump."
