Larsen Votes to Guarantee Back Pay to Federal Employees

Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) voted today to ensure back pay for all furloughed federal employees.

"Today marks the 21st day in which 800,000 federal workers are either furloughed or working without pay, including 10,877 Washingtonians," said Larsen. "I voted today to ensure federal employees who are furloughed during the government shutdown receive the back pay to which they are entitled. It is time to reopen the government and put people back to work."

The House of Representatives passed the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act by a 411 -- 7 vote. The bill now heads to the president's desk for a signature.
