Statement

Date: Nov. 16, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) released the following statement after the full Senate passed his legislation to honor Petty Officer Logan Palmer. H.R. 5935 will name the post office in Harristown, Illinois as the "Logan S. Palmer Post Office." The bill passed the House on September, 13, 2018 and now heads to the president for signature.

"We are one step closer to seeing the "Logan S. Palmer Post Office" in Harristown. I am very happy my colleagues in the Senate unanimously passed this important legislation to honor one of America's heroes. Designating this post office will not only honor Logan's service, but also serve as a grave reminder of risks that our servicemembers take on each day and the responsibilities we have to them as a country. I was honored to sponsor this legislation and I look forward to President Trump signing this bill into law soon."
