This afternoon, Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) sent a personal letter to heads of several major global automobile makers, letting them know about the opportunity they now have in the Mahoning Valley after yesterday's announcement by General Motors:
This afternoon, Rep. Bill Johnson sent a personal letter, via FedEx, to 11 American-based heads of major global automobile makers. The letter lays out how, in light of General Motors' recent announcement to "non-allocate" the Lordstown Assembly Plant, competitors of GM now have a tremendous opportunity in the Mahoning Valley.
"I sent this letter to the heads of 11 automobile manufacturers earlier today," Bill Johnson said. "The site in Lordstown is a ready-made facility in an excellent location along the Ohio Turnpike. This is a hard-working, blue collar community with a rich manufacturing tradition, with a willing, trained, and ready workforce. If a competitor decides to invest in the Mahoning Valley, they will learn what I already know -- quality work and manufacturing is in the DNA of the men and women here."
The letter was sent to the American headquarters of the following companies: Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Volkswagen AG, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
