Senator Taddeo has been a champion for her community for her entire career. She's always put education first, securing nearly $100 million in appropriations for FIU and Miami Dade College, boosting our ability to make higher education a reality for our community. Additionally, thanks to her efforts, $80 million in state funds will flow to Miami-Dade public schools for workforce education programs as well as $800,000 in funding for the Miami Military Museum Education Center. Annette also advocated for--and appropriated--$25 million for post-Hurricane Irma beach recovery and help restore our battered neighborhoods.

Annette knows the value that state funds can do to help local organizations, which is why she's always kept them in mind when she goes to Tallahassee to fight for us. In the legislature, she secured funds for the Institute for Child and Family Health, a local non-profit who has helped families for almost 75 years, as well as directing $250,000 to fund "Babies N Brains" which provides early education programs for children of incarcerated parents. Senator Taddeo knows the importance of helping folks get back on their feet, this is why she helped allocate $250,000 of funds to the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust. Senator Taddeo has been champion for District 40, directing $1 million for Zoo Miami, a vital economic and educational resource in District 40.

First responders are heroes who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. Senator Taddeo has been their voice in the Florida Senate, directing $400,000 to fund the Miami Fire and Rescue Department Mobile Command Center, as well as $1 million for UM's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center to research cures for firefighters with cancer.
