The role of government should be limited to the powers expressly given in the United States Constitution. As a state's rights advocate, Scott will remind the federal government it obtained its power from the individual states, and not the other way around. He believes in fighting federal mandates and empowering individual states with the ability to address their own issues and to provide an environment for their citizens' prosperity.
