Congressman Williams Applauds President Trump's "Nickel Plan'

Statement

U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R -- Austin), made the following comments upon President Donald Trump's announcement that he will be asking every Cabinet secretary to cut their next-year's budget by 5 percent:

"The federal government's senseless spending habits have gone unchecked at the American taxpayer's expense. I am glad to hear President Trump is taking strides to rein in the out-of-control expenses by calling for Cabinet secretaries to each cut their budget by 5 percent. This is a step in the right direction and I look forward to continuing to cut unnecessary, cost-laden programs that will leave our future generations to deal with burdensome, ancestral debt."
