Senator John Hoeven issued the following statement after voting to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States:

"I voted to confirm Judge Kavanaugh because he is well-qualified to serve on the United States Supreme Court. As a judge for 12 years on the D.C. Circuit Court, he has shown a strong commitment to upholding the rule of law, rather than legislating from the bench. His judicial record shows him to be a fair and impartial jurist with deep respect for the Constitution."
