Senator David Perdue Talks Funding Latest On Georgia Radio

Date: Sept. 20, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) joins several Georgia radio outlets to discuss President Trump's agenda and Congress's failure to fully fund the government on time.

Highlights:

Status Quo Is Unacceptable: "In Washington, kicking the can from September to December is just business as usual. To President Trump and me, it is a crisis, a mistake, and a failure. People in the real world can't do that."

Playing Offense: "Republicans have decided they are going to play defense, and I came up here to play offense."

More To Accomplish: "I ran for the United States Senate to try to change things up here, and we are making some progress. The economy is moving, we have reengaged with the rest of the world, and the President is fighting to get a level playing field with trade."

Historic Obstructionism: "The historic obstructionism here is absurd. We have 322 nominees waiting to be confirmed. Congress hasn't given President Trump the funding to secure the border, and that is outrageous. He is fed up, and frankly, so am I."

Picking Up The Pace: "President Trump is changing the direction of our country, but we could be doing it a lot faster. The rules of the Senate are archaic, they are not what the Founders had in mind, and frankly, they are a part of the problem."
