Statement

Date: Oct. 1, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Trade

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following statement after the announcement of a proposed new trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada:

"Mexico and Canada are Texas' two largest trading partners and about 3 million Texas jobs are supported by trade with these two countries. I am pleased to see the leaders of our nation recognize the need to maintain a robust partnership and strong trade agreement among neighbors. From agricultural goods to manufactured products, like auto-parts, our nations not only benefit, but rely on, the wares we each produce. I look forward to thoroughly reviewing this proposed agreement and working with my colleagues to find a mutually-beneficial solution for North Texas and our nation as a whole."
